Stepping gently through the ferns that covered the forest floor, Kantu made her stately way along her pack borders. Her eyes scanned the horison, watching for movement, be it created from the wavering fern leaves, prey, or wolf.
The infrequent birds started to sing to the sun as it rose above the distant mountains, filling the daybreak with chirping and happiness. It disgusted the female, shrill and unnatural to her untuned ears, unused to her after months of darkness and silence in foreign caves. She would get used to the noise she told herself, her cinnamon eyes flickering up to the canopy above her. Just birds- Wolves couldn't fly, so what was the point looking up? However, her eyes rested in the same place for a moment more as she enjoyed the sunshine, weak through the green leaves that soaked in every ray. A thin mist gently floated through the trees, not strong enough to obscure her vision, but enough to turn the dark tree trunks a ghostly pale cream.
A howl echoed through the forest, echoing from Kantu's open maw, a calling for any other wolves in the vicinity to come to her, to join her pack. It was time for her pack to grow from the one lone female, to many.

Ears twitched, listening to a faint howl while licking the blood from the slender maw, the corpse of the kill laying nearby and still steaming with freshness. Flicking the long and banner like tail the sleek black shaped crawled back into the shadows, oily and slick black fur sticking to the muscled body. Shoulders churning, and to the eye you could see muscle beneath the fur, bulging with each shift of bone as the light yellow eyes stared ahead. They where blank, void of emotion as the wet nose on the sleek muzzle twitched to an unfamiliar scent, other wolves. The mere thought of being near them was almost repulsize, the last time went badly enough, and this wolf was looking for recruits? Then the plan would be faulty here, yellow eyes narrowed slightly now before the massive paws planted themselves on the ground firmly, claws digging into the earths soil. Detesting the mere smell of others a low growl built from the barreled chest and up the slender neck, the black shaggy fur that ran from the bottom of the wolf's jaw to chest was thick as a winter coat no matter what the season. Ears where small compared to most other wolves but that didn't bother this social outcast.
Unable to fathom a reason on why others searched for company the sleek black wolf slipped back into the shadows, long tail dragged on the ground behind the large creature. Each step the scent grew in strength, each step the fur along the skinny spine prickled higher, bareing a yellowing fang the sleek black creature awaited on the edge of the shadows and giving the other wolf a quick glance. A female, not that this wolf would dare to draw first blood, but it if there was to be a fight then this wolf wanted to know the easiest way to confuse the enemy. The killing would wait till later, once acceptance had breezed by and there was something to gain in the process for now the simple acceptance would be fine. Pulling the small ears back to lay flat against the large skull the sleek black wolf took his first step out into view, hackles bristled lightly and looking slightly feral. The light yellow eyes glanced around with a slight crazed lightness to them, no sign of other wolves made the wolf relax slightly.
Yet in greeting the thick lips pulled back over the yellowing teeth while eyes shifted back to look to the female, tail lowered with various debris clung to it's long fur. Immense heat rolled off the wolf's large and muscled body as it hunkered down to show obdience, yet that slight glimmer was strange and unnameable in his eyes. This was the darkness, this was Xiucoatl, his name etched into wolves brain amoungst the fear and stench of decay, associating him with death and tragidy came naturally to most he had come to know. Flicking his tail Xiu crept closer, glancing around the area again, keeping alert to others that would come, his plan was set, everything in motion. With that wolfish like grin on his muzzle Xiu awaited to be questioned, glancing over this she-wolf once again.

Kantu's cinnamon eyes glowed in greed as she took sight of the huge male called to her borders by her howl, stepping out of the shadows to meet her. Such was her glee that a sly smile crept across half her maw, twisting thoughts already flying through her brain as she wondered how she could use this brute to her advantage. Taking a step forwards, her already horizontal tail rose to it's full height, curling slightly over her back at the tip and wavering slightly as a little wind whispered under the treeline.
Her muzzle pulled back as she looked down towards the hunkering male, chin tucked in to her breast. She wasn't taking any chances- If he attacked from his position, he could easy get to his neck otherwise. Her eyes glistened now with cold menace as she sought to achieve it in dominance in her first words. However, she did not feel this male was going to succumb to her plans easily; if she was not careful, she would not be alpha for long.
A treble, lithe voice spoke from her lips, adressing the male directly. "Do you wish to join and serve Scath pack and shun those that are not, especially the heartfelt ridden light packs?" She felt no twinge of her light past as she spoke the words, no connection with those she wished now to crush uner her rule in Scath. The only movement she showed that betrayed her deathfelt wishes was the subtle tightening of her claws on the ground. Her first pack member, even if he was a feral, uncompassionate monster of a wolf. Even better.

A lean dark wolf was walking freely in the fields, she was coming from the direction of a spring. Her ears perked up as she heard some wolves talking nearby, or rather were talking in a feral way. She began to walk closer to them. She looked at the female, she seemed to be the alphess here, and she seemed to be taking in members. "Hello" she said rather cruelly, "maybe I could join your little pack too". She was a little bit nicer today, not going up to the alpha, scratching them and saying if you don't let me join I'll scratch you again. She usually did that but they managed to drive her away.

Kantu's lips drew back from her canines as her...Welcoming of the male to her packlands was brashly interrupted. A snarl ripped from her throat, her eyes glowing daggers at the newcomer female. How dare she interrupt? Her ears pressed against her skull in anger, and for a moment she debated whether she should attack. However, she stalled her motions for the meanwhile, waiting for a more insulting action to launch her attack. She had no doubt that she would be insulting- She had that arrogant look about her form.
To satisfy her anger for the moment, she contented herself with snarling words of "You may be able to join, but continue to speak to me in this tone and you will be joining as omega." That would kill two birds with one stone at least- Getting the fae off her back for joining the pack, and getting herself a playtoy to beat when she liked.

Xiu flicked an ear to more words spoken from a different tongue, turning his large head and flicking his long tail to the side, blood stained lips pulled back as he bared his fangs, only growling lightly in turn. Turning back to the Alpha, taking in the she-wolf's apperance once more before clearing his throat and speak up as he had not done before. I do believe I would be honored too, they call me Xiucoatl. Lips curled back again in a smile as he reclined back onto his haunchs and curled his tail around his hind, debris littered the slick oily fur that glittered in the filtered light from the canopy. His fur resembeled a raven's wing, dark as night and slick as water, his eyes like little yellow moons, blank and emotionless. Looking back to the other she-wolf that had come into their meeting he huffed wind from his nose, snickering slightly at what the outburst had just gotten her, to be an omega from the start had to be something even Xiu wouldn't accept. Where he to be put so low Xiu would have just left the pack, his pride burned as he lowered himself slightly, showing loyalty to this new found Alpha. The fur along his spine prickled while he seethed, this brute wasn't one who liked to submit to many, looking over to the "omega" he stared at her, he didn't submit easily and he hoped that with this view no one would dare to try and take advantage of him. "I don't think you would like that" she said cruelly, she wasn't in the mood to be bossed, she travelled a long way to be here. Should I use my power and start beating her up? she thought to herself, nah, it was a waste of power and anyway, who would? She looked at the male, he was strong but she would take him on if she had to because of the snotty nosed alpha.
She turned her back and left snotty nose and other guy, time to find another pack she thought and wondered off aimlessly into the horizon.

Now ignoring the female one more, she turned back to the male, carefully trying to keep the revulsion of his hygiene from her face. It would not do for her to show her standings so early- Better to leave that until she had assessed his loyalty. Her mouth twitched on one side into a sly, ruthless smile as he pledged his loyalty and announced his name. Xiucoatl.
Now that she had gained a member to her pack, she turned her head back to the female, registering the huff of wind that was expelled from Xiucoatl's nose as a laugh at her words. She was sure that he knew the words were true though, and that were the female to enter the pack, he would take the place above her in the hierarchy- A movement that she would not be exactly adverse to.
At the fae's new words, a snarl ripped from her maw once again, such as before, and she took a step forwards, her teeth bared as she clicked words from between them. "Oh really. Try me." She hissed, layering her words with sarcasm and intent. Was this scrawny wolf trying to mess with her pack already?
Before Kantu could leap at the other, the she-wolf had backed and turned away, leaving her lands at a slow but steady pace. Anger leapt in Kantu's heart higher than before, and she made a short leap to just behind the female, missing purposefully. More words snarled from between her lips- "Do not return to the land of Scath again, while Kantu rules this place as alpha, or you will pay the price by my own claw." She would do well to assert her power now, to install fear in this feeble female before the news of her seemingly lack of defence spread through the other lands. She would not stand for conflict against her words in this land.

He watched the preceeding events with feighned interest, tipping an ear in awknowledgment and bristling slightly, he had join this pack and thus it would be proper to show some offense of having his Alpha mocked even in the slightest. Though as soon as Kantu moved away Xiu's sleek but muscled shape raised to it's full hieght, tail low but swinging slowly behind him as his hackles bristled slightly, turning his head Xiu began to look around what he could see of the territory. From what he had seen earlier and what he could see now it was a pretty nice place. Definatly worth his time. [/sub]

Turning back to her new male packmate, she noted his standing and lowered tail. Good. He knew his place in this pack was below hers. Her tail swished slightly in it's raised place as she walked back towards him with long strides, except from one made by her hind left, watching his expression out of the corner of her eye, and looking primarily at the mist drifting calmly through the trees. "What do you think of these lands?" She asked him, waiting to pick his answer to pieces when it came. After all, information was power, especially when it came to her pack. And she would want to know all about this pack now she was alphess.
A thin shake of her body ruffled her fur back into place as it settled to it's normal position, pulled out of it's place by her assertion over Dark. Immaculate once more, and hiding the bulk of her scars again.

Xiucoatl rolled his shoulders as if in a shrug, yellow eyes still scanning the scenery, his tail flicked as his claws dug into the soil beneath his pads. How often do you see prey? His baritone voice was smooth as silk, almost a whisper between his thick lips as ears tilted back to listen to her foot falls behind him. He was intrigued and wouldn't mind seeing more of the lands, but Xiu would admit he had seen better. His lip quirked at the side, almost in a smirk as he turned his head to look the other way, he was tall, built of bone and lean muscle that corded his frame. The oily slick fur rippled with every movement he made, even if he where to just breathe his rib cage would expand, causing the muscles of his back to tense up slightly. It was chain reaction leading down to the flick of his tail or a twitch of his ear, for now those small ears spun around his cranium, catching sounds around him. There didn't seem to be very many other animals around anymore, and this concerned him. Xiucoatl was a beast when it came to eating, he would hunt for himself but an abundance of prey would be nice so he could feed his hunger.

Kantu's eyes slowly closed with irritation for a moment as she heard the question come. This was going to be awkward, explaining how she herself had only just come to this land. She took a breath, opened them again, and turned to face the male, looking up into his eyes. Challenging already as she spoke. "Prey? Well, I wouldn't exactly know..." She tailed off anger flaring even before he spoke. However, she continued without directly answering, her words now lanced with her anger before she could hide it. "But of course, we could always go and find some..."

He seemed to quirk an eyebrow in slight interest, with a swish of his tail he took a step towards the Alpha, keeping his yellow eyes on hers, meeting her challenge but not surpassing it quiet yet, that would happen later in his plan. His lips curled back in a smile, small ears forward and listening to surrounding sounds. Sounds wonderful. His voice was soft, a riveting baritone that danced through the air and hummed it's own wonderful tune, Xiu could be called a siren of sorts, though not very appealing to the eye his voice was wonderful, his howl was a wonder to behold of its own, that is unless you where among the many that heard his battle cry. Blood curdling it maybe but still lovely to any dark heart, tipping an ear to where he head various twigs cracking the large bony male made note of the sounds and sniffed the air quickly. He had yet to take his eyes from the Alpha, staring back at her in a strange and yet accepting way, it was funny what could happen when you got to know somebody, maybe if he showed allegiance to this wolf he could gain in the hierarchy. Xiucoatl had never been higher than just a pack member, then again he had never really tried to be a real part of the pack, he wondered if this back could change that for him. Maybe. Just maybe.

Kantu inclined her head slightly at his words, agreeing while providing a sufficent cause for lowering her eyes. He had not yet dropped his from her own, and she was starting to get a little self-concious- She knew she was going to be looked at much now she was alpha, but not used to it bacuse of her long solitude when she had left her last true pack.
Once again, like before, she turned away, taking a couple of steps towards the thicker trees, showing her willingness to move away from the borderlands. A scowl quickly crossed her features as she did not hear immediate footsteps behind her, and she looked behind her back at the matted ebony male, beconing once with her muzzle in a flick, calling him with an angry "Come on then!" ((Move to a different board for some hunting?))
